Meet the Calm Within Team

We are Calm Within CIC—a small, dedicated team of three practitioners: Julie, Natalie, and Sandra. With a shared passion for emotional healing and resilience, we’ve spent years working with individuals and families facing a wide range of emotional challenges. From trauma and anxiety to stress and life transitions, our work is grounded in compassion, expertise, and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey.

Our team brings together a wide spectrum of therapeutic skills, including:

  • Havening Techniques® (with two certified Trainers)

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy

  • Counselling (Person-Centred and Integrative)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Transactional Analysis

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

  • Clean Language and NLP

  • Belief Change Techniques

  • ACE Awareness and Trauma-Informed Practice

We offer a mix of 1:1 sessions, group programmes, and community-based workshops. These are delivered both online and in-person to ensure our support is accessible, flexible, and rooted in emotional safety.

As practitioners, we don’t just use these tools—we embody them. Natalie and Julie are also trainers in Havening Techniques®, sharing their expertise to help others bring healing into their own communities.

What connects us is more than professional training. Each of us brings lived experience, creative thinking, and a heartfelt commitment to helping others move from surviving to thriving. We hold Enhanced DBS checks, practise trauma-informed care, and are committed to ongoing learning and ethical, person-centred support.

Our mission is simple: to help people feel calmer, more confident, and more connected—so they can move forward with greater ease and resilience. Wherever you are on your journey, we’re here to walk alongside you.

Julie Ginns
Co-Founder, Havening Trainer & Clinical Hypnotherapist

Julie combines professional training with real-life understanding to support others on their journey toward greater calm, confidence, and resilience. Her own early experiences of loss and emotional struggle have shaped a deep belief that, with the right support, everyone can move from simply surviving to truly living.

With nearly 30 years of experience supporting families through emotional and mental health challenges, she brings a warm, empathetic approach that helps people feel safe, seen, and empowered to make meaningful change.

A creative at heart, Julie believes everyone has the right to feel loved and safe. Through her work with our CIC, she hopes to change lives by offering accessible, compassionate support that helps individuals and families grow, adapt, and thrive. In her private practice, she offers 1:1 Havening® sessions and trains others to use this gentle, effective technique.

Natalie Freeman
Co-Founder, Havening Trainer & Counsellor

Natalie brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work in emotional wellbeing. With a background in counselling and as a Certified Practitioner and Trainer of Havening Techniques®, she specialises in helping people overcome anxiety, stress, and trauma—particularly those rooted in early life experiences. Adopted as a baby, Natalie’s own journey through trauma has shaped her deep empathy and understanding. This lived experience, combined with professional training, allows her to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel supported to move forward with confidence.

Alongside her 1:1 client work, Natalie is passionate about empowering others to become Havening Practitioners, equipping them with tools to bring healing into their own communities. She also contributes her personal and professional expertise as an independent panel member for two foster and adoption agencies.

Outside of her professional life, Natalie is a wife, mum of two, and a nature-lover who finds peace and inspiration in the outdoors—whether by the sea or in the woods. These moments of connection with nature reflect the self-care she encourages in others.

Sandra Milburn
Co-Founder, Havening Practitioner & Counsellor

Sandra combines professional counselling skills with holistic therapies to support people on their journey toward emotional wellbeing and personal growth. As a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, she creates a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore life’s challenges.

With a deep belief in each person’s innate wisdom and capacity for healing, Sandra integrates a range of therapeutic approaches, including Clinical Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Meditation, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). These practices allow her to work flexibly and intuitively, supporting clients in accessing their inner strengths and shifting limiting patterns.

Her work is further enriched by Havening Techniques®—a gentle, neuroscience-informed method that supports trauma recovery and emotional resilience. This integrative approach helps clients move beyond anxiety, grief, or trauma and toward a deeper sense of calm and self-awareness.

Sandra’s style is collaborative and compassionate, meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them with empathy and curiosity. Whether someone is navigating emotional pain or simply seeking greater clarity, she offers a nurturing space for meaningful transformation.
